First they came for your salt.

I’m glad I don’t live in Washington D.C. Aside from the fact that they think a convicted crack dealer makes a good Mayor and it’s filled with bureaucrats, they got the wonderful commercial by Mayors Bloomberg (New York) and Menino (Boston) encouraging the politicians to implement more gun control.
You know, I find it amazing how guys who have armed security protecting their families and them never seem to have a problem taking away your means of protecting yourself or your family. Wesley Mouch, I mean Mayor Bloomberg, (It’s hard to tell the difference some days) has shown no indication that he’s a fan of individual rights. He has endeavored to give the New York City government more control over individuals than Hitler and Stalin combined. NYC now makes California look like Texas.
First he came for your salt, then sugar, then trans-fat and finally alcohol. Now he’s after your guns. This is a man who has no respect for individual liberties, free will, or simply anything that he doesn’t support. Essentially, he’s another not so tall guy with a God complex.
This is evident by his consistent views of central planning. He claims to be a fiscal conservative because he’s not a fan of taxes and balanced the budget. However, his true colors show when you look at his views on Health, Tax incentives for business, government housing. Mayor Bloomberg believes that your personal health is the government’s responsibility because it falls under “Public Safety”. With that in mind he expanded the smoking ban, instituted a trans-fat ban, tried to tax non-diet soda, and is trying to limit alcohol sales.
He believes that it is the government’s responsibility to provide housing for everyone. However, the best indication of his dislike of individual rights is his stance on immigration. Instead of securing the border, reforming an overly bureaucratic immigration system and giving ID cards to immigrants, Mike Bloomberg’s solution is a DNA/Fingerprint database of every worker in the US.
Sorry, Mayor Bloomberg, but perhaps you will understand why I don’t trust you with my individual rights. There are rumors that he might run for President. That is the last thing this country needs. Mayor Bloomberg, please just stay in New York, where they foolishly elected you, and leave the rest of us alone.
